Read Across America!

On March 2, 2026, I participated in a Read Across America Day Author- A-Thon- on a Facebook Group called, “Adventures with Stories”. ( https://www.facebook.com/groups/1239170087061176 ). I read my book, It Happens.

Read Across Oklahoma City Public Schools

On March 6, 2026, I read to students at Spencer Elementary in Spencer, OK during the Read Across Oklahoma City Public Schools Day. I read a book about Non-Rhyming Words. This book was an interactive book where some of the words unbelievably rhymed considering the title but some were left out for the students to fill in the blanks for the next word in story. This was a fun event which was the first one that I participated in. According to the OKCPS Foundation, there were over 300 volunteers registered across 33 elementary schools.

In the past, I worked on the OKCPS Book Bus. That opportunity was awesome too since many children get free books from the Book Bus when it comes to their elementary school.

On March 13^th and 14^th, I set up an author table at Tinker AFB, OK Base Exchange for two days. This was a fun event where I was celebrating Read Across America with “Dr. Seuss “pens and lots of goodies for the children to have. This was an opportunity to meet Veterans, children, military spouses, active military members, other vendors, and guests coming to the Base Exchange.

It was good to get back in the groove since I was sick a lot last year making it difficult to participate in some events. However, when I look back, I realize that I really was “purposeful” not “busy” as Dr. Smiley, AKA Ken Rochon, an author and much more, says. (https://kenrochon.com/#about)

I have a vendor working on my video, Brains over Brawn.

Makenzi Fox, a former 2^nd/3^rd grade teacher, and I are working on a book about bullying. This will be book 13. It is in the Illustration phase where the color will be applied to the illustration.

I am getting ready for an upcoming book event at Full circle Bookstore on March 21^st, 2026. (https://fullcirclebooks.com/). This is an event with other authors in attendance. Customers can purchase the book during the event. Authors usually display a book of their choosing. I choose Nicoli Picoli. After the event, the book will be placed in the store for sale too.

I received my copy of Flash: A Collection of Very Short Stories which was published in February. It is a collection of flash fiction prompts. I have two stories in there. One story is about an adventure that has gone wrong, and another one is about a devastating secret from a librarian. (https://a.co/d/05ff6bLv). This is the fourth anthology where I've published stories.

My books, Did You Come Home for Lunch?, It Happens, Nicoli Picoli, and Eli’s Shenanigans were sent to a Tik Tok (www.tiktok.com ) reader called, Grandad. (grandad@brewdragonwood) He read my books for four nights on his Tik Tok Channel.
