  • June 27    Friday Nights in the Park – Choctaw Creek Park 2001 Harper St Choctaw, OK

  • June 28     Homeschool Conference; Moore, OK Randall University; 3701 South I-35 Service Road

The first of the month began by conducting an author visit to about 50 children at a daycare.  I read to the younger children in the morning and school aged children in the afternoon. I really enjoy reading to children while also sharing about being an Air Force Veteran.

During the visits, I encourage children to continue to read since literacy rates are so important. The books that I use are theme-based books with literary elements included in each book. In addition, I also encourage the writers and illustrators to pursue their craft.

At my next event, I read to about eight children during reading time at Commonplace Books in Oklahoma City. This was a fun event while also being able to collaborate with the bookstore. I have read at this bookstore before in the past couple of years. It is always a pleasure to be a part of Storytime events.

Also, I attended the Friday Nights in the Park in Choctaw, Oklahoma which usually has a tremendous turnout of the public (around 500 people or so ) with over 80 vendors to choose from. This is my opportunity locally to market my books and my craft to those people who stop by my booth. Sometimes, contacts lead to other opportunities for me. During the event, the customers can choose from my twelve books and three anthologies to buy.

Finally, the excitement is in the air as my illustrator, Iris Davydenko finished up the illustrations and formatting for my new book, Book 12- “Anna’s Amazing Alaskan Adventure”.

My next project is starting in August with Book 13. I hope to have this book out by the fall or winter. It will be a 2nd grade book.

Finally, my blogs will stop for a couple of months as my website is being transferred from one platform to another. It should take a couple of months so I will check in during that time.  I am sure I will have lots to say then too. This website changeover will start in July.
