Loved it! "Did You Come Home For Lunch?" is the perfect length for those who can't sit still for longer stories yet. Over the years, millions of children have seen their military parent(s) fly off on a military plane. Some are too young to comprehend where they are going, why they are going, or how long they'll be gone. In Did You Come Home For Lunch? by Mark H. McCraw, we witness a little boy who saw his father leave then, poof, arrive back home. To the three-year-old, it felt like his daddy had just left when actual his dad had been gone for two weeks. Many children deal with sadness when they see the duffel bag packed, knowing what will occur. When they are feeling sad and missing their parent, I encourage you to read Did You Come Home For Lunch? with them. Let me see that time will fly by, and, before you know it, their mommy or daddy will be walking back through the door. Maybe even in time for lunch! I didn't see listed who illustrated the story, but to whoever drew the images, good job. The people didn't look cartoony. Quite the opposite, the illustrator took a realistic approach to the drawings. Also, Did You Come Home For Lunch? is not a long book with a lot of text. The actual story context is under 20 pages, with no page having more than one line of text. It's the perfect length for those who can't sit still for longer stories yet. ~Kameron Brook - Editorial Review, Reedsy
