August 2025

I just had the opportunity to see my new site on Wix after having been moved from Weebly. Since I have a gap in my blog, here is the latest happenings in my author journey.
On June 28th, I participated as a vendor during the day at Randall University for a Homeschool Conference. In addition, I was asked to be a speaker for a session called, “Having the Mind of a Child-Literacy is important”.
During this session , I had parents in the room who were taught through my reading of Eli’s Shenaninigans with concepts that are in the book such as Sequencing, Matching, Compare/Contrast , Vocabulary, Research Skills, and various other concepts required to be taught in the curriculum at home by using elementary standards. I also mentioned in the session, that you can use graphic organizers and games for their children which will make the concepts be easier to learn. Many graphic organizers were talked about as well as displayed as such as a Story Map.
I also explained to the parents about the “Mastery of English Language Arts” discussing the different parts of English Language Arts.
During the month of July, I attended the Barnes and Noble Author Event at Quail Springs in Oklahoma City with four other authors. I was introducing Eli’s Shenanigans. I thought it was funny that a child that I have seen many Eli’s this month at events.

I had the awesome opportunity to read to students in Tecumseh, OK at a daycare. It was a great visit with the younger children in one classroom that I read to and next door with the school-age children. We had a good discussion about rules as I read Rules, Rules, Rules!
The children and I had a good interactive session where each child was asked to discuss some daycare rules and how they apply to them. I also had a discussion with them that rules are everywhere in society.
Another event I attended November 11/12th was setting up a booth at the local military Base Exchange for two days. The first day was a little slow so I was working on editing my new potential books and marketing. The second day started off slowly, but I kept busy with editing new potential books and marketing. Then, suddenly, I had many people coming to my table buying my books.
The month rounded off by me attending two Friday Nights in the Park which usually has around 500-700 people sometimes depending on the night. I do a lot of marketing during the event and exposure.

The final event was a class I conducted called, “Introduction to Publishing”. which was sponsored by Not Your Average Joe Coffee Shop which is in a local bank where I held my class in a classroom next door in a conference room. I had hoped for more people, but I did have some people in attendance which truly turned out to be blessings.

Amid all my busy schedule, I have been working on a new book with another author and participated in multiple podcasts. I even recorded my new book, “Anna’s Amazing Alaskan Adventure”, on Indie Reads Aloud with Diana Kathryn Penn.
In addition, I have been on several podcasts like Called2Serve Podcast by Host Reggie Hubbard, Quixotic Heights with Host Amy Le, Creative Slingers of Ink by Host Mandy Squires, and Kim Talks. I also have two podcasts scheduled in September called The Phil Young Show and Book Lovers Companion with Host Edith Zeitlberger.
